Action items

In this lesson, we’ll learn how to use action items in a conversation. eSign requests a signature from a single or multiple assignees on an uploaded document. Approval requests an approval from an assignee. File request is a request for a file to be uploaded by an assignee, and reviewed by another assignee. Acknowledgement requests an acknowledgement from an assignee. To-do is a request for a task to be completed by an assignee.

You can use action items in a flow conversation and regular conversation. The flow conversation templatizes the actions into an automated process. To start a flow, select a flow from your template library or create a new flow template. The flow templates can be accessed by starting a new flow conversation, or in the Flow Tab, listed under Libraries.

Select a template and assign the actionable roles. Once roles are assigned and the flow has started, the action requests will follow the templated structure.

To learn how to create a new flow, watch the lesson here. To use action items in a direct or group conversation, you can click the plus button to add actions, or open the actions view. Click create to add an action. You can also view action items awaiting your input, pending action items, and all completed items for that conversation.
